Karen Patriquin
Karen is passionate about her work as an individual and relationship therapist and an experienced facilitator of workshops and retreats. With over 20 years experience as a health care practitioner Karen’s knowledge and ideas have been sought out as a repeated guest on both radio and television shows.
Karen’s training includes an Honours BA in Psychology from McMaster University, and a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Psychospiritual facilitation from the Transformational Arts College in Toronto. Karen is a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and member of Imago Relationships International. She is registered with the Canadian Examining Board of Heath Care Practitioners, is a Master NLP Practitioner and has Level 2 Reiki.
Karen is the Founder of Awakenings at the Center for Better Living. In her private practice, Karen can help guide you through life changes, stress/anxiety, grief and loss, intense or uncomfortable feelings such as anger, fear, frustration and depression, the impact of illness and addictions, relationship issues, lack of self esteem, trauma or abuse, spiritual exploration such as identifying life purpose and more. As a psychotherapist, Karen assists with gentle confidence, compassion and respect. Offering a unique blend of techniques, tools and exercises, Karen can assist you in getting to the root of issues and frustrating repetitive patterns. In an atmosphere which promotes healing, learning and inner peace Karen serves individuals, couples and groups in overcoming obstacles and perceived limitations, to reach a better quality of life.
Karen lives with her husband of 19 years, and two beautiful teenage daughters at the base of the Escarpment. In addition to her family and her practice, Karen is passionate about snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, her dog Brandy, her wonderful friends, ongoing learning and her own spiritual exploration!
