Melissa Vecchio D.C.
Melissa Vecchio entered private practice in 2002, and immediately became highly active in the community of Collingwood. Dr. Vecchio’s clinical focus in on family wellness, with a high emphasis on pediatrics. She lectures regularly on a variety of health topics and has presented at many community events and organizations. She appeared regularly on Rogers Daytime, was featured on the show Women to Women, and has been interviewed by the local news and radio stations.
In 2004 Dr. Vecchio founded BirthQuest Childbirth Education classes. In 2007 she founded Thrive ~ Healthy Parents, Healthy Families a company that regularly offers workshops on topics such as natural family living, cleaning without chemicals, choosing safe personal care products, eliminating toxins from your home, healthy eating, and supporting your immune system. Dr. Vecchio has taught these classes both locally and in other parts of Canada.
Dr. Vecchio is also passionate about natural living and environmental awareness. She co-founded and led the Holistic Living Network from 2005 – 2008, bringing together members of the community interested in natural health and environmental issues. She was also actively involved with Partners for a Green Collingwood, a group that promoted non-toxic garden and lawn care and helped enact a by-law banning the use of cosmetic pesticides.
When not in practice or lecturing she can be found spending time with her two sons enjoying an active lifestyle.
